CWAS’ unique service is delivered by our nearly 2,000 brilliant volunteers in branches all round the country.

Each branch is known as a “Chapter” and is led by a Chapter Captain. Trishaw riders are known as “Pilots”, outriders who accompany Trishaws (normally on a traditional or eBike) are Co-Pilots and a “Co-Passenger” is an official CWAS representative who will accompany a passenger when that is requested.

CWAS’ operation is managed by its small Headquarters staff team, supported by specialist consultants and Ambassadors. Ambassadors are highly experienced volunteers who represent us in a wide range of functions  in their region, ranging from training volunteers to carrying out annual technical inspections, delivering presentations and officiating at events. We are governed by a Board of Trustees, some of whom themselves are volunteer Pilots.
